Today, we get to know the lovely and talented Media Assistant extraordinaire Jessica Harradine.
Explain your job as you would to a 5-year-old.
Co-workers help companies choose when and where their commercials air on television. I help these co-workers to make sure their commercials ran correctly.
Why Your Role and why @ Active?
I have always been interested in media as I did take Business Communications in University. When I came across the job posting for the media assistant it sounded like a great opportunity. As I learned more about Active I understood how unique of a company it was. Also, how important their corporate culture is to every employee. I believe a strong, positive corporate culture helps to increase employee satisfaction and productivity!
Most memorable moment at Active so far?
I thought it was so exciting when we formed the “culture club” early this year. I was motivated to instill even more of a solid culture within the office atmosphere. I am also eager to see what kind of activities and memories we create!
Tell us something about yourself that not many people know?
Something that not many people know about me is that I have dual citizenship! Born and raised in England until I was ten and moved to Canada with my immediate family almost 14 years ago.
Tell us about your charitable cause of choice and the last thing you did to support it?
I support the Mae Movement; created by a mother daughter duo in 2011.They sell bracelets made by women in Nepal. These women make an income by making these bracelets; this ensures they are able to have safe homes, food, education and medical needs. The bracelets they make are very unique; I last supported this cause by purchasing bracelets in 2013 to gift to a friend.
If you weren’t in your current career you would probably be ……
If I was not in my current career I would probably be going to college for cosmetology! I love anything beauty related and have quite the collection of products at home. Makeup is a cool product to experiment which is usually what I spend some of my weekends doing! I also enjoy applying others makeup as well.
Adjective your family would use to best describe you?
An adjective my family would use to describe me as would be passionate. I always give something 110% of my effort; I enjoy starting new projects and trying out new things. Whenever I am beginning something new I am always excited to start and share my experiences with my family.
Adjective your best friend would use to best describe you?
My best friend would use loyal to describe me. I have known my best friend for almost 13 years. We have been extremely close ever since we met. She knows I would go out of my way to help her or anyone else out.
Biggest Trend Impacting The Advertising and Media business today?
The biggest trend impacting Advertising and Media business today would be the ever-growing digital world. More companies are opting to branch into this medium in hopes to reach an even larger amount of their target audience.
Favourite Ad of all time?
I absolutely love the Criss Angel Orville Pop Up Bowl commercial. I love this commercial so much because I’m so fascinated by Criss Angels career. I also think it’s hilarious the way the wife gets hyped up over the pop up bowl as if it was something magical Criss had done.
